About the Relief and Resilience Fund

As we grapple with an ongoing pandemic, a spike in domestic abuse as a result of COVID-19, police violence in Black communities, and California wildfires we’ve established Relief and Resilience Fund.

Starting in March, we moved new and increased funding to Women’s Foundation California grantee partners, and channelled funding to every domestic violence shelter in California caring for survivors and families who are unsafe or unhoused. The racial, economic, and gendered impacts of COVID-19 are profound.

We’re committed to advancing a feminist plan for California’s economic recovery. Through our new partnership with the Office of the Governor of California we look to expand funding and reach our $50 million goal.

We realize now more than ever, it’s critical we make bold acts of solidaritylisten to and support organizations founded and led by Black women, transgender, and gender non-conforming folk.

The future needs a feminist plan driven by community power. Donate today and support an intersectional gender justice response to these crises. Looking

The phenomenal organizers, connectors, and power-builders who are part of the Women’s Foundation California network make it abundantly clear that we have the leadership we need to weather this moment and continue to build toward a just future.

It is vital that we continue to grow and expand this Fund, please consider contributing to the Relief and Resilience Fund today.

Solidarity Grants

The impacts of white supremacy and systemic racism on the Black community requires us to put our money where our values are. We’re relentless in our mission to address racism through an intersectional lens while holding a longer-term vision affirming and celebrating the human dignity of black and brown lives.

Domestic Violence Grantee Partners

We are working in partnership with Blue Shield of California Foundation to provide funding to 130 organizations who are responding to the increase of domestic violence across the state.

Rapid Response Grants

As the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic became clear, we gave an initial cash infusion to grant partners to support adaptation and response. For our most vulnerable populations devastated by California wildfires this summer, we also got money out the door to assist our partners in disaster resilience.
