Community Power Fund - Women's Foundation California
What We Do

Community Power Fund

Our funding strategy is centered on building community power through multi-issue grantmaking. We invest in community-based organizations working to address the root causes of inequity and advancing solutions led by women and girls. We have longtime Core Grant Partners focused on the health, safety, and economic security of our communities. Most grants range in size from $5,000-$30,000 and generally do not exceed $75,000.

The Women’s Foundation California grantmaking is by invitation only. However, interested organizations and projects are encouraged to contact us to schedule a call to discuss.

We invest in...

Community organizing, policy advocacy, civic participation, integrated voter engagement, and culture change in three core issue areas: economic security, health, and safety including organizations working to address pay equity, affordable childcare, workplace protections, access to education, gender-based violence, criminal justice reform, reproductive health and justice, and environmental health and justice.

Below is a list of our current grant partners, we continue to make grants on a rolling basis.

Multiyear Grantmaking

In July 2022, Women’s Foundation California gave out our first-ever round of multiyear grants to 16 organizations on the frontlines of change.

This is a big deal for us as an organization and how we invest in critical movements for racial, economic, and gender justice across California. Our commitment to multiyear, unrestricted grantmaking ensures that our communities have not only the dollars, but the trust and the time required to transform our world. It’s both an honor and a point of pride to resource our grant partner organizations on a three-year timeline that more accurately reflects the long arc of change.
