Tayonna Ewin (she/they) recently graduated from Stanford University, where they majored in African and African American Studies. For my undergraduate thesis, they delved into the realm of identity formation among black gender-marginalized individuals in the context of internet memes. During their undergraduate journey, they actively engaged in research within Stanford’s Sociology Department and had the privilege of contributing to the Stanford King Papers Project. Additionally, they collaborated with non-profit organizations such as Gideon’s Army in Nashville and Fostering Media Connections in Los Angeles, both of which are committed to advancing racial, gender, and economic justice. They find joy in practicing yoga, nurturing my plants, attending concerts, and watching TV shows.
