Our Roadmap to a Feminist Future

Training our way to a feminist future

California is more than 50% women and it is one of the most racially diverse states in the country. But you wouldn’t know that from looking at the legislators in Sacramento who shape our legal landscape.

It’s time that our policy landscape reflected the people in our communities.

We need folks who look like what California looks like, who have experience as immigrants and as mothers. Who know what it’s like not to be sure if you’re going to make rent or feel like you don’t belong.

Through our training strategy, we are creating a California that works for all of us.

Leaders

Let’s put an end to policy that only serves folks who are pale, male, and stale.

Through our Solis Policy Institute, women and girls, Black, Native and people of color, low-income women, immigrant women, and non-binary and transgender people get the training they need to advance policy.

Policy

The Solís Policy Institute broadens the diversity of policy advocates in California, in particular providing a place for the voices of women of color, LGBTQ+ people, low-wage, immigrant, and others who have been typically excluded from the places of power.

Fellows are accepted for SPI from a competitive applicant pool and come from a range of social justice backgrounds including: Reproductive Justice, Criminal Justice Reform, Economic Equity, Relationship Abuse and Gender-Based Violence, and Environmental Health and Justice, complementing our strategy of grantmaking through the Community Power Fund.

This work is powered by you.

The feminist future we are building together in California is going to be built by all of us sharing our time, our money, and our skills.  Please consider contributing today.

Together We Are Unstoppable.
