Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our 2019 Annual Legislative Reception in Sacramento last month. It was an incredible evening filled with voices of community leaders and legislators working to secure gender, racial and economic justice in California. More than 200 guests from around the state attended to learn more about the seven key pieces of community-led and centered legislation the Women’s Foundation of California/WPI is co-sponsoring this year.
We were especially excited celebrate our 40 years of advancing gender justice by honoring Gender Justice Champions: First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, CA Senator María Elena Durazo, co-founder of the Black Lives Matter Movement and Supermajority Alicia Garza, longtime government leader Elmy Bermejo and policy leader Judy Patrick.
