We are so grateful to the over 100 folks who attended our literary lunch hour conversation with Akaya Windwood and Rajasvini Bhansali, authors of Leading with Joy: Practices for Uncertain Times.
As Akaya said “Joy is a birthright. It gets systematically degraded from us when we are children. To reclaim it and practice it is especially important in leadership.”
Through joyful leadership, we can grow and support movement leaders, especially BIPOC women and gender expansive folks. Here are three ways you can take action today to practice purposeful leadership and create the conditions for joy and social change:
- Buy Leading with Joy for yourself or a loved one
Discover how joyful leadership offers new ways of being and doing that hold the possibility of deep transformation. - Watch or share our conversation
Missed our literary lunch? Watch the recorded conversation here and share it with a friend. - Give with Joy!
As Rajasvini said, “In terms of Philanthropy, one of the surest ways we can spark more joy is to make multiyear grants. Let’s do it!” Check out and support WFC’s multiyear grant partners.
Our shared sense of purpose and joy is an act of liberation. This gathering would not have been possible without the support of our co-hosts CalNonprofits, Just Economy Institute, Solidaire Network, and Women Donors Network.
Together, let’s foster abundance and well-being for ourselves and our communities.
