We are so grateful to all who joined us this week at our legislative reception to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Solís Policy Institute (formerly Women’s Policy Institute). The awe-inspiring work of our honorees—advocates, policy makers, changemakers, and SPI fellows and alum—fuels us forward in our work to advance racial, economic, and gender justice. Gathering in person filled us with overwhelming pride to belong to such an amazing community.
DONATEGender is expansive and so is our community.
At Women’s Foundation California, our name reflects our history but not our present. Across all of our work, we strive towards greater gender-inclusiveness and continue to learn and evolve as an organization.
Our grantmaking program is driven by our intersectional approach to racial, gender, and economic justice. We prioritize funding to organizations led by frontline leaders who reflect the communities they champion.
For more than 15 years we have trained a powerhouse network of advocates who are changing the policy landscape of California. Our Solís Policy Institute and Funders Policy Institute build the confidence, know-how, and network to change the game.
As a publicly-funded foundation, we know that together we can do more. With our events, trainings, and convenings, we bring together organizers, policy movers, grantmakers, and power builders from across the state to spark new connections, strengthen networks, and build community.
Supported by the generosity of our community, we moved nearly $10 million grantmaking dollars to our partners in 2020.
Across California, we prioritize investment in organizations and networks that build power in communities led by women of color and non-binary leaders. From the valleys of Visalia to the streets of San Francisco, our grantmaking strategy is guided by trust and flexibility.
