Ai-jen Poo (left) was recently named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Last year, we shared with you some surprising facts that we learned during a webinar featuring two leaders of the national and California domestic workers’ rights movement: Ai-jen Poo of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Katie Joaquin of Filipino Advocates for Justice. Ai-jen and Katie shared the inspiration behind this movement, along with the unprecedented win in New York and growing effort in California to pass a Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. Katie was working with a team of fellows in our Women’s Policy Institute on the California Domestic Workers Bill of Rights.Well, they’re getting closer, and they need your help. Tomorrow is a big day for more than 250,000 domestic workers. At least 500 domestic workers and their supporters will converge in Sacramento to call for legislators to pass #AB889 (Ammiano and V. Manuel Perez) and finally end their exclusion from labor protections. Tomorrow will be their last big push to win Senate votes and they need your help! Mark some time in your day to join the festivities online tomorrow at #AB889, 8:00am – 4:00pm PST and retweet the joy and excitement of the historic day. (Link to: https://twitter.com/#!/search/%23ab889)
