In an era of overwhelming complexity and change, what does it take to lead with courage?

Join us for a festive evening with community for the Bay Area launch of Choosing to Lead Against the Current, the powerful new book from award-winning movement leader and executive strategist, Eveline Shen. Co-sponsored by the Women’s Foundation California and Libra Foundation, this intimate evening will feature a heart-opening conversation between Ev and Malkia Devich-Cyril, founder of Radical Loss, exploring how we navigate leadership, purpose, and hope in this moment of transformation.

With more than two decades at the forefront of reproductive justice and racial equity movements, Ev brings wisdom, humor, and grounded guidance to this timely offering. Her Courageous Operating System is a blueprint for how leaders—especially BIPOC women and gender-expansive changemakers—can stay connected to purpose, build momentum, increase their impact, and thrive while facing the currents of the repressive political environment.

Together, we’ll explore how to lead with heart, cultivate belonging, and build a future rooted in collective liberation.

What to Expect:

  • An inspiring conversation with Eveline Shen and Malkia Devich-Cyril
  • Excerpts and reflections from the book
  • Audience Q&A
  • Food, drinks, music, and community celebration
