Thank you, Los Angeles! You brought it ALL together last Thursday night!
We want to savor and remember how significant it was to celebrate and recognize one another for our individual and collective power to create racial, economic and gender justice – over four extraordinary decades in California.
We hope you will spend time with the beautiful photo gallery of the night (thank you, Andrea and Maya!) – for a glimpse at the love, relationships, generosity and spirit that emanated from the stage and from every table in the hall.
Thank YOU for showing up. We are grateful to each of WFC’s LA Founders, Gender Justice Champions Ana Guererro, Dolores Huerta and Bamby Salcedo and TransLatin@ Coalition, Anahuacalmecac International University Preparatory of North America, First Partner Jennifer Seibel Newsom, State Senator Holly J. Mitchell, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, and every Gender Justice Movement Maker organization member in the room, for giving all of us the chance to recognize and celebrate such extraordinary feminist leadership; thank you for making California’s communities safer, fairer and more prosperous for cis and trans womxn of color and gender non-binary folks over the past four decades. Check out our video that highlights the work we’ve done together to shift cultural norms and change laws – and we’re ready for the work ahead of us.
A special thank you to our LA Emcee Eunisses Hernandez, musicians Mariachi Lindas Mexicanas and Alina Hernandez, TiWanna Kenney and the Live Giving team and of course our Event Hosts,Sponsors and Partners for bringing the evening to life. Our gratitude to the culinary geniuses at the Vibiana and Redbird and the best event producers and designers at Do Good Events and Tompert Design.
To each individual, organization, foundation or business who purchased a ticket, a table, sponsored friends and colleagues and/or raised your paddle – for a Live Giving grand total of $48,000! – thank you for investing your love and your dollars in creating Gender Justice.
If you haven’t yet, you can fulfill your Live Giving pledge or make a new gift online or via venmo @womensfoundca. And if you happen to have forgotten just how generous you were, an individual pledge reminder is headed your way! And finally, remember and carry on Dolores’s words: Who has the power? We have the power! What kind of power? Feminist Power!
