Elizeth, or Ellie, is an undocu artist youth organizer with the Youth Justice Coalition. She attended Cal State LA, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with an emphasis on Intersecting Identities and Relationships. Ellie initially used art as a healthy avenue to cope with the challenges she experienced as an undocumented person. Ellie’s evolution as an artist and organizer allowed her to merge both her passions. She continues to use her artwork as a wellness tool, but also utilizes it to highlight the social injustices and oppressions that marginalized communities face. Her passion as an organizer stems from her own experiences as an undocumented young woman of color, her families interactions with immigration, and experiencing the murder of her 14-year-old cousin at the hands of law enforcement.
