Emma Li began working with SOI’s Family Reunification, Equity & Empowerment (FREE) Project in June 2020 as a student organizer at Scripps College with the Claremont Colleges Prison Abolition Collective. They have been working with FREE for the past year to reunite system impacted families with children in the child welfare system. Emma merges her creative background with her knowledge of PIC abolition and experience organizing against policing and incarceration. They have also been with Youth Justice Coalition LA for a year under the legal team, co-launching the virtual Legal Correspondence Program
