Katherine Cabrera is an urban planner and advocate who is passionate about supporting communities to build power and ownership over climate solutions. Katherine’s passion for social change stems from her lived experience growing up in the Inland Empire. As a youth activist, she organized against the policing of her immigrant community and witnessed how the expanding logistics economy impacted her hometown. As Program Manager for Capacity Building at the Greenlining Institute, she supports community stakeholders in Los Angeles County with the resources, tools, and partnerships needed to realize community visions for climate resilience. Katherine holds a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles, a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Analysis from Pitzer College, and is also a Fulbright recipient.
