Monica Acevedo Guerrero (She/Ella/They) has devoted her career to creating space for diverse voices to take political action so that their sense of agency is nourished “Desde la Raíz.” As a Queer Andean-Indigenous Peruvian resident of Chino and Long Beach, she understands our systemic infrastructure that marginalizes our most diverse communities. Monica is the Lead Policy Coach for All Children Thrive. She leads local policy campaigns in the Southern California region and oversees technical assistance for over 15 policy campaigns statewide. She holds a Masters in Public Administration from CSU Long Beach and a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from CSU Dominguez Hills. She serves on two Equity Advisory Committees: SLGBTQIA+ CalMSHA Mental Health Services Authority and the Latino Coordinating Center for a Tobacco Free California. Her passion is understanding community knowledge, values, and catalyzing their agency towards impactful policy change. Monica enjoys reconnecting with Pachamama (Mother Earth) and soaking up the power and energy of Inti (Sun).
