We recently asked our Summer Leadership Institute fellows, “What does having a woman of color on the presidential ballot mean to you?” Their responses overflowed with hope and imagination, envisioning a future where girls and gender expansive youth from all backgrounds see no ceiling to their ambitions. For these young leaders, this moment represents the potential to create a more inclusive and equitable world—one where leadership reflects the richness of our diversity and the ongoing struggle for justice.
As we approach Election Day on November 5th, we are reminded that each vote is a powerful act of imagination, a chance to shape our feminist future. With mail ballots being counted and early voting underway across California, we encourage you to embrace the hope embodied in casting your vote.
For too long, Black and brown people have faced barriers to exercising their right to vote, which is why we are encouraging everyone who can to vote. Fill in your ballot—drop it off at the polls, use a drop box, or vote in person. Whatever method you choose, remember that your vote is a declaration of the future you envision.
Together, let’s transform our hopes into action and create a world where every voice matters. VOTE!
