Do you want to have greater impact, shape public policy, influence debate at our State Capitol and expand the reach of your nonprofit?
If so, apply for our 2012–2013 Women’s Policy Institute (WPI) fellowship program! We’ve found that applicants benefit from informational conference calls where we review the process for applying and answer any questions. Please join us on Tuesday, June 26, 12:00 to 1:30 PM Pacific Standard Time.
We created WPI as a way to grow the number of women leaders who are involved in shaping public policy in our state. Though women comprise nearly half of California’s population, they are underrepresented in political leadership and policy making. WPI teaches women how to conduct research, develop effective messaging, mobilize constituents, create bills and then shepherd those bills into laws. To date, our fellows have helped pass 14 groundbreaking laws! We’ve written about WPI on our blog. Check out Alba Mercado’s reflections on coordinating the Institute. Or see what Monica Flores has to say about being the youngest WPI fellow ever.
