Attitude of Gratitude

Born and raised in Brazil, I’ve long found the Thanksgiving holiday rather fraught. I don’t like revisionist histories, the erasure of Indigenous genocides, or even leftover turkey sandwiches.

But gratitude? That is something I very much enjoy. I’m deeply thankful that together we can continue to build our feminist future.

So in that spirit, I want to offer up my deep gratitude to the truly phenomenal people and organizations who make up our community.

Here is a brief sampling of what we are grateful for at Women’s Foundation California:

  • Our grant partners who work day in and day out to make our intersectional feminist future real.
  • The dynamo Solís Policy Institute network of current fellows and alums, which is over 600 people strong.
  • Our brilliant Board, which stewards our work.
  • The allied community of donors and funders who invest their dollars in what we are building together.
  • The equally complex and powerful internet that allows us to stay connected as we continue to work remotely.
  • Each cup of powerful coffee that provides an extra bit of fuel.
  • Culture changers who are building a new way forward.
  • The young folks who are part of our Summer Leadership Institute and the next generation of leaders.

What are you grateful for?
