As Executive Director of Fresno Barrios Unidos, Ashley Rojas does everything from fielding phone calls from an anxious teen before an internship interview to organizing alongside formerly incarcerated youth during the hiring of Fresno’s new police chief.
A Women’s Foundation California grant partner, Ashley and Fresno Barrios Unidos bring an ethos to their work with young folks that is built by love and rooted in culture. Ashley explains, “We work in collaboration every step of the way.”
Today, we are asking you to be part of that collaboration. Will you invest in the leadership of women of color and make a monthly gift to Women’s Foundation California?

Whether you give $5 a month or $500, every contribution made through The Continuum builds our collective strength. Together we can ensure organizations led by women of color and gender non-conforming across California are resourced with financial investment, policy training, and community connections.
Ashley’s been particularly struck by the support she has received from the womxn in her community. Describing the challenges of leading an organization during a tremendously challenging year, she said “Every time I thought I wasn’t gonna make it, there was another woman holding space for me.”
Like Ashley, we know that “Together we can win for our families, for our villas, for each other.”
