Kim Carter has a motto: “A lit candle loses nothing when it lights another.”
And it is incredible to see this Women’s Policy Institute Alum, Women’s Foundation California board member, and donor spread her light.
Motivated by her own experiences with homelessness and incarceration, Kim Carter left her career as an accountant to start the Time for Change Foundation. Focused on building thriving communities, the organization provides emergency shelter and long-term housing alongside programming designed by and for women and their families.
Whether through her work with Time for Change Foundation or in her various roles with Women’s Foundation California, Kim continues to share her light. Her individual generosity and ingenuity is reflected over and over again in the collective power of our broader Women’s Foundation California community.
When I think about Kim, when I think about you (even if we haven’t met yet), I feel truly grateful and encouraged about what we can achieve when we support one another.
