Decked Out Through the Decades: A Fashion Fundraiser - Women's Foundation California

By Isabelle Sanderson

On March 13, students with the Marlborough School Charitable Fund* celebrated five years of grant-making with a fashion show. Decked Out Through the Decades featured designs by Marlborough students and modeled by Marlborough students! The sold-out event raised $25,000, which will be donated to charities over the school year.

It was an amazing night hosted by the young actress Molly C. Quinn of the ABC show Castle. Molly was dressed to impress in a twenties inspired outfit and narrated the show with clever decade-inspired comments.

A panel of celebrities judged the fashions. Judges included Modern Family actress Julie Bowen, acclaimed wedding dress designer Monique Lhullier, boutique owner and designer Jennifer Nichols, Ms. Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres and Jcrew shopper and frequent E-commentator Nadino Maxwell. The judges mingled during the silent auction before the fashion show and were all quite willing to be photographed and meet the guests.

Everything went off without a hitch. The silent auction featured an array of items including Vena Cava dresses and signed movie scripts. The models rocked out to a playlist that transported the audience through the decades and the live auction items were described by the vibrant, Marlborough teacher Dr. Reinholtz.
