KCBS' Jane McMillan is joined by Surina Khan, CEO of the Women's Foundation of California which, for more than 30 years, has been working to increase philanthropy and political empowerment for the women and girls of California. To get a deep and accurate view of how women in the Golden State are faring, The Women's Foundation of California collaborated with the California Budget and Policy Center on the Women's Well-Being Index of 2016. The Index, gives a county by county assessment of everything from economic sustainability to personal safety to political representation for women and girls.
