Put Your Money Where Your Values Are: #BlackLivesMatter

The deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and so many of our loved ones at the hands of police reveals yet again the pervasive racism,  prejudice, and inequality that continues to run through our country.

As we watch our nation mourn and protest, it’s clear there is so much more work to do. Read the Women’s Foundation California full statement about the work we must do individually and as a community not just against racism but to be anti-racist. We realize now more than ever, it’s critical we make bold acts of solidaritylisten to and support organizations founded and led by Black women, transgender, and gender non-conforming folk.

The impacts of white supremacy, police violence, and systemic racism on the Black community requires us to put our money where our values are. We’re relentless in our mission to address racism through an intersectional lens while holding a longer-term vision affirming and celebrating the human dignity of black and brown lives. This month we increased our support with Solidarity Grants to eight organizations led by Black women, transgender, and gender non-conforming people granting a total of $160,000 from our Relief and Resilience Fund. The following are the organizations:

Join us in a shared vision for justice by demanding police accountability, investing in our communities, and embracing Black Lives Matter.

This work is powered by you.

The feminist future we are building together in California is going to be built by all of us sharing our time, our money, and our skills.  Please consider contributing today.

Together We Are Unstoppable.
