Lila Gitesatani is a Staff Attorney at the National Housing Law Project (NHLP). NHLP is a federal policy organization focused on preserving and expanding affordable housing for low-income renters and homeowners as well as strengthening and enforcing tenant’s rights, including the rights of survivors. Lila’s work focuses on NHLP’s California policy priorities, fair housing, the housing choice voucher program, and preservation of affordable housing. Before joining NHLP, Lila was an attorney with the housing team at Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc. where she represented tenants facing evictions, advocated for the rights of low-income tenants, and engaged in community outreach and education. Lila holds a bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego and a law degree from UCLA. She is based in San Diego.
