We need the kind of change that actually lasts, the kind that rewrites systems and reimagines what is possible. This kind of change doesn’t happen in a single year. It happens through steady, patient work. It happens when activists and organizers can look beyond the next funding cycle and focus instead on the work, people, and vision right in front of them.
At a time when funding is becoming more restricted and organizations are being asked to do more with less, we’re choosing a different path. Women’s Foundation California is committing not just to existing, but to expanding our support for the movements that make California more just, more inclusive, and more free.
This year, we’re continuing our practice of long-term investment, renewing our three-year grants to 16 core partners, some of whom we’ve been in relationship with for decades. Each grant of $90,000 is a reflection of our belief that sustained funding fuels lasting change. Today, we’re proud to renew these commitments and deepen our shared work.

These organizations are not simply responding to a crisis, they are reimagining and redefining what joy, power, and belonging look like in California. Their work touches everything from protecting reproductive rights to immigrant communities to trans and gender-expansive folks.
This is what multiyear funding makes possible: room to breathe, to build, to envision the long arc. Our commitment is simple – stay connected, together, for as long as it takes.
