Have you voted yet? We are just a week away from the September 14th gubernatorial recall election and if you haven’t yet now is the time to cast your ballot.
As frustrating as this recall may be, our imperfect democracy is made better when more of us show up. It’s up to us to expand what’s possible and hold each other accountable to being our best selves at the polls and in our communities.
One way we show up at Women’s Foundation California is by moving money towards individuals and organizations that are advancing the work of our democracy.
As a community, we invested in three organizations through our Relief + Resilience Fund organizing around the California gubernatorial recall election and doing their part to keep our state moving in the right direction:
- Courage California Institute – Works to make sure Californians have the resources they need to courageously participate in the democratic process and create change for the betterment of their families and communities
- Inland Empowerment – Through coalition work and community organizing, Inland Empire Fund works to represent the many identities and progressive values of Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
- Alliance San Diego – On the ground and in the halls of power, Alliance San Diego calls for accountability and empowers voters to build a more inclusive democracy.
All across the state, each of these organizations are growing their already critical work to do additional organizing around the recall and make sure our democracy works.
If you are a registered California voter, you should have received a mail-in ballot that you can mail back. If you are craving that in-person experience drop off at in-person polling sites and drop-off boxes on or before the 14th.
You can even track the status of your ballot online.
Let’s keep California moving towards its feminist future.
