BELONGING
In a world that seeks to divide, our work is to build connections and foster belonging. This year, our partnerships created new paths for advocacy and resilience:
Lyon Martin Community Health
For 45 years, Lyon-Martin Community Health has been a vital source of compassionate, culturally responsive care for transgender, non-binary, intersex, and other LGBTQIA+ folks in the Bay Area. This year, they exceeded their campaign goal, ensuring a permanent home in San Francisco to preserve this essential sanctuary.
Solidaire Network
With Bia Vieira’s election to the Solidaire Network Board, our partnership expanded, directing rapid response funds to critical causes including capital campaigns with the Transgender District and Lyon Martin Health.
Women’s Funding Network
Gender & Capital Design Council
As a part of the Women’s Funding Network, we are crafting a multi-sector strategy to amplify the power and influence of women and gender-expansive people. In collaboration with women’s funds nationwide, WFN held a key meeting with national funders in New York and Chicago.
GRANTS
We invest in community-based organizations dedicated to addressing the root causes of inequity through solutions led by and serving women and gender-expansive people. By funding leaders who champion racial, economic, environmental, and gender justice, we aim to create systemic change across California.
For FY24 year-to-date, Women’s Foundation California awarded 91 grants totaling $3,979,000. Highlights include $95,000 in civic engagement grants and $140,000 in SPI-State grants to advance the capacity of transformative organizations.
