While there’s much to celebrate today, we still have a long way to go. That’s why we’re joining 25 women’s funds from across the country to increase attention to the issues affecting women and girls nationwide. The “Calling All Women: Send a Message of Strength” campaign raises awareness of the inequality that exists and highlights the change that local and national women’s funds are advancing around the country.
The Women’s Foundation of California is particularly concerned about the barriers to women enjoying economic security, which is why we co-released a report, Falling Behind: The Impact of the Great Recession and the Budget Crisis on California’s Women and Their Families. We’ve also just released a 9-minute podcast that helps make meaning behind the staggering numbers in the report.
Throughout the month of March – Women’s History Month – the campaign is using mobile-giving technology and a multi-pronged social mobilization approach to spread the message that women must unite for change. Check out the campaign video. It’s short and snazzy, and shows the impact of inequality on women’s lives.

Like other women’s funds, we work every day to make positive change by supporting women on a broad range of issues such as economic security and health.
