Reproductive Justice Needs You—Here’s How We Can Help - Women's Foundation California
Reproductive Justice is Community Care

For over 45 years, Women’s Foundation California has believed in a simple premise: reproductive justice is not a single issue. It’s not an isolated collection of policies. Reproductive justice determines whether people can build the lives they want—lives defined by autonomy, opportunity, and safety.

That is why our work has never been siloed.

In 2005, we helped secure Assembly Bill 1285, which expanded affordable, quality childcare options in Los Angeles County—because reproductive freedom is inseparable from economic freedom.

In 2019, we joined forces with students from justCARE: Campus Action for Reproductive Equity to pass The College Student Right to Access Act, ensuring that all 33 public university campuses in California provide access to abortion pills.

And in 2021, we partnered with Black Women for Wellness Action Project to push forward the groundbreaking Momnibus Bill. It expanded doula access, strengthened midwifery care, extended Medi-Cal postpartum care, and provided direct cash aid to low-income pregnant people. Because no one should have to navigate parenthood while carrying the weight of systemic inequities.

These wins didn’t happen in isolation. They emerged from a network of organizers, advocates, and community leaders who understand how systems actually change.

Our Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice grant partners are central to that work:

Through their leadership, with the Solís Policy Institute, we’ve helped pass more than 50 intersectional feminist laws in California. Each one is a reminder that progress happens when movements invest in people who understand the systems they’re trying to transform.

But the truth is: we’re in a period of contraction. Hard won rights are being taken away. Access is being eroded. The politics around bodily autonomy are becoming more fragile. This is not a moment to drift, it’s a moment to deepen our commitment

Your gift powers the work that keeps these rights from being diminished. It ensures that policy is paired with the infrastructure to support it and that communities have the resources to push back, even as the ground shifts beneath them.

This is why your support matters so much.
Not as charity, but as fuel. As solidarity. As a refusal to surrender our future.

If you can, give today. Help us keep building a California where reproductive justice isn’t precarious—it’s permanent.
